Chisec is the jumping off point for six unique destinations providing unbeatable adventure, unmatched scenery, and the chance to interact with the Q'eqchi' Maya, the local guardians of the beautiful destination spots that exist in a rich natural and cultural setting.

The Sepalau Lagoons are four impressive karstic small lakes   filled with crystalline turquoise waters and surrounded by a lush tropical landscape combined with amazing limestone formations. Access to the lakes is easy and there you can swim, paddle in a canoe or simply relax while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the rainforest and its surroundings.

Jul Iq' (Cave of Wind) and B'omb'il Pek (Painted Rock) are two impressive cave systems where you can admire extraordinary rock formations such as stalactites and stalagmites, remnants of ancient Maya pottery, and the first cave paintings discovered in Guatemala. B'omb'il Pek offers an exciting alternative for the more adventurous tourists who can rappel or climb down to the entrance of the cave.

San Simón River , surrounded by a lush rainforest, is located two kilometers away from the town of Chisec. Its crystalline turquoise waters, intricate karstic formations and exotic limestone walls make it the perfect setting for an exhilarating river tubing tour.

Candelaria Caves National Park is a subterranean river and cave system considered among the largest and most impressive in Latin America. In addition to its speleological attributes, this cave system was a main pilgrimage site for the ancient Maya civilization and it shelters diverse flora and fauna. In the park there are two Q'eqchi' communities who offer quality tourism services: in Candelaria Camposanto the community offers two magnificent dry caves and an exhilarating cave tubing tour through an underground section of the Candelaria River. Located on the banks of the Passion River, in Sayaxché, Petén , Cancuen archaeological site was an important commercial hub between the highlands of Guatemala and the lowlands of Petén and México during the late Maya classic period. The site offers excellent eco-friendly tourist infrastructure, like no other in Guatemala. To reach the site you must take a small boat at community of La Unión.

Located in the remote forests of Northern Petén, El Mirador archaeological site has the largest monumental pyramid ever found in the Maya World and it was one of the most important sites during the Pre Classic Maya period (2000 B.C.- 250 A.D.). The community of Carmelita is the gateway to this site and two local organizations, Carmelita Cooperative and ACTUNAC, offer quality tourism services to visit the site in an adventurous 5-day journey through one of the last pristine Guatemalan forests.

Located off the banks of the San Pedro River in the Laguna del Tigre National Park, El Perú-Waka' archaeological site played and important role in the struggle for domination between the Maya superpowers of Tikal, to the east, and Calakmul, to the northeast. The Paso Caballos community is the gateway to this site.
