By car

From Guatemala city take road CA-9 (commonly known as the road to the Atlantic) until you reach the town of El Rancho (km 85). Take a left turn and take the road to Cobán (212 km total). On Cobán's main street, almost in front of the Plaza Magdalena Mall you must take a left detour that takes you straight to Chisec (74 km). All of these roads are paved and in good conditions but we recommend driving during the day due to heavy fog and heavy rain, specially on the road to Cobán.

By bus

To get to Cobán we suggest you use the Pullman service bus with Monja Blanca.

From Cobán to Chisec, vans or "microbuses" leave about every hour from Cobán's bus terminal.
